I converted my F100 390 4spd to power steering. I shortened the column according to instructions on this forum. I sourced a 74 PS gear box. My only issue in the column doesn’t align perfectly to gear box. I read about this and a common answer is Cab mounts, mine are solid. I also read column bracket on firewall is different between manual and PS trucks. Has anyone had to swap the column mounting plate? If so, can I use from a dent?
The bracket on the end of the column you need will come from a PS truck and will say PS on it. You really need it. The rubber firewall gasket on the inside will need to be moved up or modified to fit. Have you read this.
Thanks for this. Yes I read that sometime ago and used that information to assist in modifying my column. I missed the section on the firewall bracket. I will now try to source one. Thanks.
