Starter trigger wire only 5V
I drive a 2000 F-250 5.4 and recently done a deep cleaning of the center dash..ie I took everything apart & washed it down (mold outbreak due to broken windshield). Once I put everything back together and turned the key to nothing.
Checked battery, starter, starter solenoid(relay), fuses & relays in boxes, starter switch & key, and the NSS. Nothing came back as the issue.... except I was only getting 4.75 V (~4.85V when key on start) coming from the starter trigger wire on the solenoid.
Figured since I wanted to see if there was any error codes popping up with the engine on I jumped the solenoid to get the engine running.... No codes...No lights...Only thing different was this occasional beeping that wasn't caused by the door being open.
Turned engine off & reattempted to turn back on but still nothing.
Was wondering if I forgot to plug in something that was causing a safety "switch" to disable the engine unless this was plugged back in.
Anyone know either a list of these safety switches so I could double check them? or know what the problem is?

Start by checking CJB fuse F20. It should be HOT IN START. If not, the problem is back at or to/from the ignition switch or its feeds.
