Good Afternoon, I just picked up this C700 this past week. I have attached a picture of the ID tag, the main vin reads: C70DUB40494. Previous had next to no information on the age, history or motor. I was hoping someone might be able to help decode the vin on it to help with the registration process. My plan is to make a car hauler out of it for moving around my other projects. Thanks in advance.
B40494 = 1967 Series Number. (It's also a 1976 series number, but your assembly plant would be V in 1976 and model code C700 wasn't used in 1976, so we'll go with 1967)
153 = 153 inch wheelbase
No color code. Painted a non-standard color, note the truck is a special order
C700 = C700 gas 24,000lbs GVWR
691 = This is interior info, my source isn't complete so I do not have this info.
L = Clark model 2651-V1 OR 2653-V1 five speed direct transmission
74 = Timken model H140 Single Speed Rear Axle / 6.40-1 / 17,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.
No Front Axle code. For '64 to '69 only optional axles were indicated. Thus, it's the "standard equipment" axle, probably 7,000lbs capacity.
24000 = 24.000lbs GVWR
164 3800 = 164 Certified Net HP @ 3800RPM

0402 = Special Order Number
