electrical question

2014 f250 super duty gasoline 4 door
Driving down the road and used the switch to open the rear center glass, courtesy light in the roof console came on, and all dash lights dimmed to nothing with light switch on auto. Turned lights off, dash lights came back on but overhead courtesy lights stayed on.

Any one have an idea on this?

Well, went out this morning, and everything was working right. Appears it happens after opening and/or closing the rear window.

Sounds like you have a short, your roof leak at all? You have cab running lights at all that might cause a leak? Was it raining that day or did you wash your truck?

No roof leak, had been raining. All outside lights work when this happened. This happened once before, and I think both times I had opened and closed the rear window.

Check a wiring diagram to find the connector for the rear window motor. You probably have corrosion at the connector (green crusties) causing voltage back-feeding the dome light.
