Gonna due a fluid change on the 18 tranny, I have a few questions. Is there a changeable filter? Can the converter be drained without pulling the tranny? And if you have done this change how many quarts does it take to refill. Thanks in advance
Not knowing anything about the 18 models or the transmission, I can offer this.
I've changed the fluid in many transmissions and transfer case.
Each pan I've dropped exposed a changeable filter and a pan magnet that you simply wipe off.
Transfer case is much simplified with both drain and fill plugs. It's recommended to remove fill plug 1st so that your not left with a drained TC incase the fill plug removal becomes an issue, usually not with a breaker bar.
Both, the transfer case and newer transmission are simply fill until fluid starts running back out via fill plug, no dipstick required.
Transfer case sits behind transmission and is easily serviceable without removing transmission.
Again, not knowing your particular transmission, look underneath vehicle at the transmission for a fill plug.
This pick is of the 10spd transmission.
You can see in his user name that he's not the " managment " and highly likely was meant to be humorous.....it was.
BUT in this day and age , it's possible that even a Superduty owner could be offended. 🤭
