Alarm Recommendation
I have a 97' Expy 5.4l EB and I want to get an alarm.
I don't know much about them and I would like to hear from experienced users. When looking at alarms, I noticed that some of them have a LCD key fob pager that can tell the status of the vehicle.(I like that feature)

Your choice of alram should be based on what features you need. The majority of alarms are the same just with different features.
Viper, Clifford,Sidewinder,Python,Rattler,Hornet,Avital,W asp, are all manufactured by DEI. You can check out there website here.. The type of alarm you purchase will be dtermined by what features you want/need.
I personally have an Alpine SEA-8081, Omega Remote Start, Alpine Window Roll Up Modules, Alpine SEC-8205 Remote Pager, Alpine SEC-8345 Dual Zone Radar Sensor, these can all be adjusted thru my head unit. I have always used Alpine Alarms. The 8081 is no longer produced but it is still by far the best alarm ever made. You can purchase a basic alarm for around $99.00 installed. The LCD key fob is cool but it really isn't practical with all the abuse your keys take. My alarm has on but I NEVER USE IT. They scratch easy and are EXPENSIVE to replace.
