I recently purchased this truck and I'm not sure I want to keep the camper shell. It's the "factory" version, fiberglass, produced by Leer, as I understand it. Original to the vehicle in a Bahama Blue color scheme. Can anyone advise as to the value of these things?
That looks like factory wiring. Would be hard to find today. Those were the best looking toppers back in the day and the only factory ones I can remember of the big 3.
Definitely keep it. You've got the deluxe model with the wide chrome trim which is harder to find. Plus the shell looks to be in good shape still. I searched for a little over a year to find one with the big trim. If you do want to sell, I'd be interested.

I'm open to selling it. I'm also not not far away.....Virginia Beach.

are you wanting to sell the topper. I would like to buy it
Interesting how they put on tie-down cleats but there is no way to reach whatever is in the bed that could need to be secured.
I know, 2 years old, but the shells are way older and fit a lot of Fords with that same slant at cab back. I bought my shell used in the '80s, paid $300, but traded it after 2003. Had two rails of stought edge up mounted 2x4s, one secured to a pair of deck columns below the deck level. Back up between them, climb in bed, undo fasteners, then stand up with back against roof and straighten my legs to lift one end at a time and slide a 2x4 under shell across rails that were just higher than the bed rails. Do the other end, then drive truck out from under the shell.
After I built my home, I moved, then unloaded the shell onto a couple RR cross ties, it set there a few years, then I traded it for some tree trimming work.
