Hey Blue Oval, I just bought a camper shell for $40 and was wondering if anybody had any insight of the potential manufacturer or potential manufacture year. Are some camper shells more dependable than others? Any input would be appreciated!
Nice looking shell....and it's the right color for your truck!!! Generally, the one piece fiberglass units (like yours) are the higher end of what's available......I don't have anything brand or model specific for you, but the tin skinned ones were usually pretty cheaply built and didn't hold up as well as a fiberglass unit.
My folks used to sell these. I'm no expert but Glasstight was the first name that came to mind looking at yours, although there were other fiberglass shell manufacturers.
I really appreciate the input. One thing I noticed about the shell is that the roof is "dipping". Would an internal frame be my best bet of fixing this issue?
Possibly......or you may try setting it on a 55 gallon drum out in the sun with the drum under the low spot for a while and see if it comes back and stays......I doubt it will but may be worth a shot............
