Towing heavy?

I moved a 8500 lb takeuchi track loader on a flat deck trailer maybe 4500 lbs across town maybe 10 miles, It wasn't pretty but made it. If doing long distance i would stay under 10000 lbs. The suspension handled it better than i thought and it got up to speed ok , only went like 40 mph or so. I had a diesel 3/4 ton before this. it wont match old truck in that department. I have 3.73 rear and 5.0 . hope that helps
