Stub puller/slide hammer

Appreciate suggestions on both items. Looking for a stub puller and not as much a bolt puller.

Attempting to remove spindle hub brass bushing, rented a slide hammer from local auto parts which consisted of the slide hammer but the jaws were too beefy to grasp the thin separation between the busing and the housing shaft, Used every tool in my arsenal to include a few make-shift tools and finally resorted to the mushroom head on my fork pickle to move the bushing and by then there was no need for the slide hammer. Appears the slide should include attachments with narrow jaws or something similar.

Comments/Suggestions appreciated!!

Not sure about others but kinda tough for me to envision what you're describing---got any photos of the assembly you're trying to disassemble?

Within the next few days intend removing the hub spindle bushing on the driver's side and hoping to come up with a solution I would estimate it took a considerable amount of time when should not have taken more than an hours to complete the entire replacement? .

The 1st pic is of the passengers side hub spindle bushing and I went thru my arsenal of tools to move the brass bushing. The 2nd pic is comparing the brass bushing on the right to the bearing and bushing on the left. The problem I will have doing the driver's side will be removing the brass bushing which is slightly tapered and almost sets flush with the housing??

Comments/Suggestions Appreciated!

I don't know I can be of much help but what is the assembly exactly? Is it part of an engine or drive device?

Can you access the back side of the bushing to use a punch or chisel to drive the bushing out? I'm thinking to "crush" it towards the opening and it might fall out? Perhaps the trick then becomes installing the new bushing properly/

So sorry I can't offer any better advice.
