So the engine in my 1994 Ford F-150 Flareside just died...
I love it, I just bought it and want to do a restore since she's essentially a classic car now.
Hubby and I named her Mary Jane.
Is it possible to put the new Godzilla Engine in this thing, and if so, what on earth am I gonna need, and other than the engine and probably a 2020 Transmission...
Ford now has the crate engine at $7000 with shipping, yes it will fit, but right now there is no "feasible" means to control it. There is a company, OBR, that offers a control pack but it is for the engine only and it's $3500. You would then need a separate transmission controller (assuming you go automatic tranny) which can be had for slightly less than $1000. I have spoken at length with Ford Performance, they will offer a control pack soon for the 7.3 mated to a 10R80 only trans, but no definitive date. It will be around $1500 and will control the engine and the trans. The swap will be fairly spendy but less than a Coyote as you can keep your factory air if equipped, as the Godzilla is about the same dimensionally as a 351W. If you are serious you don't want to pull the trigger for the crate engine yet as Ford has teased a "megazilla" on their YouTube channel. Currently there a no engines offered on EBAY and the insurance auto auctions are getting $15K for totaled 2020-2021 F250's so avoid that route.
