I think its funny they make toyota run carbs just like everyone else, remember hearing them whine about running, "antiquated technology".....boo hoo, wah, wah.
NASCAR will be dead soon anyway. How long do you think GM and Chrysler are going to be allowed to have racing programs under Government receivership? Ford and Toyota only? If I were ever to watch again the "S" would have to actually mean "stock". How about a real Charger or 300, CV or Grand Marquis, G8 and GS or LS460.
You're correct. GM and Chrysler are being told to leave NASCAR after this season if they wish to continue receiving govt bailout money. Estimated they will save $250 million per year. The funny thing I heard is that Hundai is being considered as a replacement, not sure if that is true or just an April Fools joke.
It was a april fools joke, but to be honest I have to say that it is harder to justify the cost of sponsorship. Nascar is so far into the 60's yet that it isn't funny. Why they don't allow fuel injection and why they don't mandate that they run a engine that is available in the model of car that is suppose to be decaled to be doesn't make sense. They don't have anywhere near a stock body, basic engine or fuel system to start with. I see little to be gained by spending the money.
That Obama was going to make them pull out of Nascar. Car and Driver ran a April fools story saying that they were requiring it for any futher money. Many boards were having a field day with the story.
