Depends on the type of printer, I have one like most people would have (FDM) Fused Deposition Modeling where it lays down a thin layer of material as it builds. This type leaves striations albeit very minute, and would not make for a good lens. It'll allow light thru but it'll be extremely diffused. Example below.
I printed this Next Generation warp core model completely with a 3d printer, I used clear filament for the lit up sections and as you can see the light is diffused greatly.
There's another type of printer that uses liquid instead of filament that might work better but I have no experience with any other type of printer.
