ok, so i know that my boyfriend has slept with someone else. I don't know when, but it hasn't been recently(past month or so). I know that she initiated all of it, but he still did it. And he lies to me about it. I asked him, he said no. I don't know what to do.

 

This is an interesting first post. Do you have hard evidence that he did it? Not just someone who dosent like him or want you to be with him. If you do have a reliable source, I say go fishing, there are other fish in the sea. If he felt the need to lie about it he must not me to sorry he did it, and chances are he will do it again. How old are you guys anyway?

First off, I have another FTE user name, but I wanted to not reveal who I am. Second, after being with one person for over 6 months, then going and having a one night stand with someone else while still with your girlfriend i think is wrong.

someone asked how old we are...I am 24 and he is 25. It was from a very reliable source.

 

I would trade that 25 year old truck in for a new model right away. When you get a lemon, it sure isn't going to change with age.

As far as the topic goes I get a sore gut when I hear of this type of behaviour.

I see and hear it happen so much it makes me want to sit down and ask people why can't they be HONEST with everyone, rather than be hurtful to someone they are supposed to care about.

The main basic point about all this though is unless one is married, most relationships are quite vulnerable.
But even marriages after a while become vulnerable, just less often.

Rule of thumb : No one OWNS another person.

The most important idea in relationship's is to find someone who has the Integrity to be honest in their dealing with each other.

This guy has actually saved you years of grief by doing this at the age you are.

He has basically stood up and said: "I am not true for you"

Count your lucky stars you are not in the situation where he has strung you along for 20 years and once you have turned 45-50..... left you in the dust for another woman.

At least at your age, you can still take your time to find that REAL special someone.

Consider what has happened: "A Stepping stone of Life & Relationship's".

Here is something I tell all the girls I know or meet .......about men.

Play close attention on how they treat their Mother.
This takes months to really learn ....not weeks.

If they treat their Mother with disdain, that's how you will be treated.

If they treat their Mother with Love & Respect that is how you can expect the guy will treat you.
But this also means that YOU also have to do the same.

Too many relationships these days are built on the wrong thing.

Infatuation & Sex. ....None of these relationships ever work out in the long run.

Anyways. So you know your boyfriend slept with someone else AND has lied to you about it and you are still with him? Sounds like you need to wake up. Sorry to be harsh but to many people ALLOW themselves to be victimized without trying to mitigate the damage. Your 24, move on.

 

Dennis is right - he saved you a lot of time and grief. To cheat and then lie about it is unforgivable in my eyes. But everyone has their own boundaries. Yours may be different. Generally speaking, once you forgive this behavior, you are giving the green light for it to happen again.

Hey Mil1on, does the hw they treat mom trick apply to women as well? I would guess it does, as my experience says the same. Also watch how they act towards waitresses in good service and bad, another indicator on their personality. I'm with the rest, he was willing to do it, and hasn't the integrity to admit his failing, so move on and find a better person. Can't say I have never made mistakes like that, but not to one that I respected fully. I haven't done such to my wife, and would like to think I would be strong enough not to go there. My marriage of the time was failing, she was actively trying to get with someone else, and never did have any respect for me, nor her mother... (her mother didn't deserve it, really, but still...) Doesn't make what I did right, but I can honestly say that I didn't really like the way it made me feel. Some men don't have the concience to let them be bothered by it, and some of it comes from upbringing. We live in a double standard society, where it is ok for men to be active, but not women. Never really figured out the difference, but it is how we have become.

 

Sort of - watch how a woman treats her father. Some day that will be you.
