Hey Folks,
What size ramps are you guys (riders) using to load your motorcycles into the trucks bed? would a 9' be enough based on the stock 2018 rear end height?
I have the 5 step ramp above and it’s excellent! The 6 step was not available when I got mine. Expensive but worth it imo. Only problem is having to lock it up at a trailhead. Don’t want to lose this beauty.
I have NO connection with this company! I want one tho!
Here is a killer ramp that also turns into a trailer that is VERY COOL! Pricey, but wide enough to give great stability ( you ever been in a bed of a truck with a 600 to 800lb motorcycle? Gets your FULL ATTENTION! ) into a bed of a truck. It also can be a trailer or it can ride folded against your tailgate so you can travel at top posted speeds. Watch the video.
What size motorcycle? There's a big difference between a 200# MX bike that you can walk up and a big ADV bike or cruiser.
I have a 9' curved Black Widow ramp that I use with my 2013 and have had good luck with it.....rear wheels in a ditch or gutter, all four wheels on flat ground, it really makes no difference to me when loading or unloading with that ramp. I've loaded my 600# GSA, a friend's Africa Twin which is by no means light and a Burgmann scooter which ironically weighs more than my GSA but has almost no ground clearance with no drama what so ever. https://www.discountramps.com/black-.../p/BW-440-AMR/

A friend of mine got one of those and loves it. My only grip, albeit nitpicky, is that I wish it could change sides. I walk up on different sides of the bike, depending on which side it's being tied down.
@saratoga2011 Are you using a wheel chuck in the bed? what's your way of securing the bike?
Yes, it's just the Harbor Freight wheel chock. You can't strap BMWs down by the bars, it has to be tied down with straps around the lower stanchions which works perfectly with that chock. I have two straps on the crash bars to the front bed tie downs to hold the whole shebang in the bed, and another two ratchet straps at the passenger pegs to the rear bed tie downs that cinch the rear of the bike down.

wow, that is a nice ramp! I have my old 6 footer from my baby truck, and i used to put a MX stand down and walk up on that, but it clearly is too low for my 2fitty. That 6 step ramp is totally up my alley. Thanks for the link!

odd, i picked up a GSA a few months back, and tied it down via the bars. i just had to remove the winglets, so the strap had a straight run to the bed corners. Rock solid transport ~200 miles from boston to NYC, at, well, not slow speeds...
