Is there a way to lubricate the shaft that the throw out bearing rides on? My 88 bronco II 2.9 5 spd 4wd clutch sticks not allowing any shifting and sometimes it works. Have bled the slave cylinder to no avail. Like I said sometimes it works and sometimes it don't so I feel its the throw out bearing binding on shaft. It's my beater for around the farm, don't want to remove tranny. Thanks
Hi marc51,
On my Ranger, my slave cylinder throw-out bearing was slightly sticking so I temporarly removed the inspection plug and pushed down on the clutch pedal (devised a way to keep it down) then took some PB spray (one of the best lubes for loostening rust) and sprayed the shaft that the bearing + spring ride on. (keep away from the friction pad + clutch plate) Then pushed the clutch pedal up + down a few times. It works good now!
