Ham radio antenna mount drivers side?

Looking to mount antenna for my Yaesu FTM400. I have a Platinum with sunroof and don’t want to drill holes. I have seen fender mounts but not fond of the look protruding out of the body line . My idea is to try and put it on drivers side cowl and mirror the AM/FM antenna. Anyone got pics or know of a bracket? I know jt will require some custom work and drilling the cowl but I think that looks cleaner. Pic for attention

I haven't installed mine in my truck yet, (actually its been gathering dust, I really need to be back into radioing) but I've been looking at stake pocket mounts for when I do. Maybe something to consider?

ForeverFixing - I saw those but that protrudes from the fender line.

Msudenga - too pricey and I don't want to risk a leak.

Found this in when I searched. Granted its a 2006 F350 but the idea

This was the same way I mounted my HAM antenna on my Jeep Liberty. Minimally invasive and the hole on the plastic can easily plugged up. If I remember correctly I used a Comet UHF trunk lip mount that I bent and hard mounted to the top of the firewall.

I would suggest a headache rack for mounting if you do not want to drill holes. Mounting low may give you more clearance in garages but it will have issues with SWR on the A Pillar and all that RF in the face just makes me uneasy. Also higher is better....

Jimmy - I don't TX much. Mainly want it for an emergency but I like the APRS so my family can see where we are.

Here’s mine. Drivers side is 10m/11m. Custom bracket mounted to the hood hinge bolt. Holds up ok with a 3ft fire stick. Passenger is 2m/70cm on a hood bracket.

I need to get the cowl off and do some recon. Too many other projects on the shelf that need to be installed though
