Sure has... But it was in the 50s today... Not bad at all. Last week we set a record. It was in the low 80s. Beautiful. Its still early though. We could have snow at one point... Ya never know.
Ordered a couple of the Ford OEM spouts from ebay Ford dealer for $10 each with free shipping.
Next project I believe will be doing the resistor for the high idle, I have that on my chip in the old truck & really liked it to spin the A/C a little faster when loading horses on the hot days.
When I did fuel filters yesterday I ended up cycle the key about 10 times to stop hearing the gurguling sound in the filter, I had read 3 times & 6 times but figured a few more would not hurt anything

I overkill it at 12 times when i change my filters. Better safe than sorry IMO.
There are several stations near me that actually have def at the fuel pump, usually $2.50 or so a gallon. around here a 2.5 gallon jug is between $10-15. I actually search out def-at-the-pump stations now, so much more convenient. Seems like I always make a mess with the jugs, getting it too full. I had one of the ford spouts a long time ago, but got tossed at some point.

I was actually intimidated to go to the "big rig" pumps to get DEF the 1st time to ditch the jugs lol. Great call. BUT I do not buy fuel there, you must pay for fuel inside, so I go around to the "car" pumps to fuel. I also only fill DEF when it is low.
Like I said, weather changes. Last week we set a record high for April and this morning at 430 am when I left for work, it was about 34 and raining. Climbed the hill and halfway up, it turned to snow. Got to the top and it lightly covered the grass. It got a little slushy further down the road. But not a lot. Then it slowed down, the snow, then turned back to rain. Then stopped all together once I was on the expressway.
But as the discussion, I have never bought DEF at the pump. As for road trips, I fill up prior to make sure I don't have to screw with it when on the road.

Same deal over here with the weather, last week 70 - 80 all week nice & sunny but the last 2 days have been gray with wind blowing to beat hell. Did get a little rain yesterday YEAH, we need the rain badly but temp around 50 felt like 30.
Drove over to Montrose Ford dealer to pick up floor mat set they ordered for me as I will not spend a nickel at the Ford place in our town [long story there] & my owners packet came in so I have a lot to look at. My mud flaps are out for delivery so maybe I can get them on this afternoon.
Sounds like good advice about filling the DEF before any trips to keep from having to fool with it on the road.
The dealer has the yellow coolant for $22 gal for the concentrate which seems like a fair price so I will probably pick that up next week when I take the truck in for a front end alignment. The truck has a very slight pull to the right going down the road so hopefully that takes care of that.
My plan is to do coolant then change fluid in trans & transfer case. After that the diffs & she should be good for awhile

How many miles on the new to you?
When I had my 96, I plowed driveways then commercial with it. I researched the E4OD and read horror stories online about them blowing up at very low miles when worked. I won't go over the details of what I did as the 6R140 is lightyears ahead of that old trans. But anyways, I would dump the trans fluid after every plow season. I installed a two valve setup after the last cooler on the return line back to the trans. to shut the return and dump it there. I did it twice before adding the fluid a second time. People thought I was crazy but my thoughts were that two cases of ATF were cheaper than a trans. And I worked the hell out of that truck with some of the storms we had here. It went 91k miles before it was replaced but still working. There was a lot of clutch material in it when we drained it to return it as a core.
Anyways, my overkill mentality carried over to this truck. I dropped the fluid and pan at 31k miles to replace the filter and put 4 small high temp rare earth magnets in the bottom of the pan. I drained and filled again at 60k miles. It takes about 8 quarts. I'll drop the pan at 90k miles to replace the filter and check those mags I added. I did the transfer case at the same time. I figured why not since I'm under the truck. To me, doing this makes the additive package in the fluid is replenished and maintained.
I meant to do the power steering fluid sooner but hopefully will get it done this year when it gets warmer out and I'm done doing what I have to around the house.
The truck has 140k miles on it & I don't have any history of how it was maint. The only thing I could go on was that all the fluids "looked" good & were at right level when I was looking to buy it. Also it has no leaks or nothing seeping from anywhere so my thought is to get everything changed so I will have a good baseline & go from there.
I am 2nd owner & you can tell by the bed that it was used as a truck & there is a 110v plug in the bed so I believe at one time there was a fuel transfer tank involved but the funny thing is there was a plastic bed liner in it covering up the factory GN hitch sys. There is a little paint scraping in bed after removing bed liner so I have an appt for Thurs to have bed rhinolined. Other than the 110v plug everything else is factory stock.
