Inline 300 Motor Mount bolt sizes?

Does anybody know the size of bolts? There are six total, 3 for each mount and there are two mounts. I have not been able to find anything relating to the Inline 300 mounting hardware.

You do not have the old bolts? If you do, you can take them to the store and match them up. Do they have a tractor supply in Texas?

I want to say that they're 7/16" by either 3/4" or 1" long. I can confirm for ya tomorrow if nobody else replies by then. I bought a new set of aftermarket mounts, and the stupid things had a different stud on each side...one was 1/2" and the other M12 (and yes I know they are close in size, but they were definitely different).

If it screws into the block itself it's going to be standard thread. But something on the motor mount itself may be metric. They must not have changed anything at the foundry and the place where they machined the blocks, they all stayed standard till the end. But anything external seemed to go to metric.

I heard the same thing when I was looking to replace the intake / exh mounting bolts with studs & nuts when I went to EFI exh manifolds.

I have had this truck apart for about a year, and I have saved most of the bolts but I am not the only one who uses my garage so I think they got misplaced.

Hunt around your shop and find a bolt that threads in. Then take a tape measure and measure the length you need. Then take the bolt to the store and try some nuts on it till you find the size that fits. Then go to the bolt bin and get that size in that length. Since this is going on a motor mount, I would buy the grade 5 bolts that have a greenish color to them. The silver ones they carry are grade 2 bolts. They sell a grade 8, but I think that is unnecessary for this application.

Sorry I don't know the exact bolt you need, it's not a common thing you can find on a chart somewhere for each engine and each application of that engine.

P.S. Tractor supply does sell metric bolts, but do not have the selection that they do for standard. If it turns out to be a metric bolt you need, you might find them at the car parts store. I needed a specific metric bolt for the exhaust manifolds on my Ford 2.9 v6. No one had them except my local Napa store.

I just checked one of my factory bolts and it has a 5/8" hex head and captive washer, which means it is probably a 7/16 coarse thread (7/16-14). I started taking it out so that I could measure the length for you, but it was tight and I remember that my aftermarket mounts didn't line up 100% perfectly, so I didn't want to remove the bolt. They're probably 1" or maybe 3/4" long, but you can just measure the depth of the hole and the thickness of the mount plate, and you'll have a good idea what you need. My 2 cents worth.

Found my answer

Got some time to go through bolts and sizes.
What I found for a 1985 4.9l inline 300, the hardware used to bolt the mounts to the block are 7/16 coarse thread 1 inch. Accompanied by a thick hardened washer.
Just in case anybody has this problem and wants somewhere to start. The head can be turned with a 5/8 socket or 16mm socket.
