Gap between bed floor and side quarter

So I have had the new truck for a couple days now I was installing a leer tri-fold cover and I noticed while I was in the bed of the truck there are gaps on both sides of the truck between the bed floor and the quarter panels I'm taking this is normal I would hope LOL this was towards the front of the truck bed

I used a product from work,, its black sealant and sealed all around the bed. Then I will buy the Rok Block to fill in the gap between the tail gate and bed or the full Bed rug system and last but not least, some weather stripping for the tail gate gaps by the tail lights. That should seal it off and minimize dust / dirt getting in there..Just havent decided which topper to get...

My current truck has a topper and nothing is sealer and the dirt build up is gross

Big gaps along the tailgate sides, this is what I used.
