Virginia recently passed a law which prohibits having a cell phone in your hand while driving regardless if you're using it or not. Now I discover the contacts list uploaded from my phone only displays a certain number of contacts ... at least those beginning with the letter "M" (haven't checked other letters). There are 26 contacts in my phone which begin with the letter "M," but SYNC will only display the first 15 or so. All my contacts are loaded to the phone and not the SIM card. Any of you experience and correct an issue like this? If so, can you provide any pointers? Thanx!

You should definitely be able to have your entire contact list.
Are you talking about Bluetooth or USB.
Have you tried a Master Reset of the SYNC 3 system?

Many times this will solve such issues.
Do you know how to do the Master Reset?
I do not think you quite know what he means as I have the same problem he does. You can search contacts by first letter, as in OPs example the letter M. So you search M and it will only give you the first 10-15 contacts that start with M, even though you might have twice that in your phone. Its a safety thing, because if you do this while at a stop, you can scroll through the entire list of M contacts, but as soon as you start to roll it cuts that list down to 10 or 15 names and a message displays saying some features have been disabled for safety (due to you no longer being stopped)

I'll have to try this while stopped when I get in my truck this afternoon. Thx!
I just tested on my truck while in moving and could see all of my contacts. I have one letter group that contains 47 contacts. I might not be a fair test though as I have Nav in Motion enabled via FORScan. Apparently, the setting allows Nav entry, text viewing, USB drive browse and full contact search (new to me).

That must be it then. I figured it could be changed via forscan but I haven't really looked into doing that. I guess I should buy the cable I need for that

It's been 3 years since I changed some of my settings using Forscan, but Nav-in-motion was not one of them. Wasn't that the one that changed some readouts to metric only, such as the MPH in the nav screen? I recall there being something about that one setting that made me decide against it.

The only other changes I'm aware of is the MPH sign looks European on Sync 3 Nav screen (the value is still US and the sign is correct on the 8" IPC) and it adds an extra trailing zero to FM station numbers.

Well, I have the same SYNC 3 system in my 2016 F150, I’ve never used FORScan, and I can see “every’ contact under each letter that I pick.
Master reset had no effect. Can view the entire list of contacts only when still ... and view partial contacts list when moving. I have not checked to confirm voice commands still work for those contacts I cannot see while moving.
