What torque converter?

I have a 1974 F100 4x4, 360FE and a C6/ NP205 transfer case... the parts store has a couple of different options.
This truck is going to be a simple daily driver with some mild wheeling, nothing crazy. The difference is the pilot length and I'm not sure which one is for my application. Any idea?

This one~ Pro-King Torque Converter FM127 | O'Reilly Auto Parts
Torque ConverterTransmission Code: C6; Non-Lock-Up; 12.750 Inch Overall Diameter; 11.440 Inch Bolt Pattern; 4 Stud; 3/8-24 Thread; Milled Flat Hub; 1.375 Inch Pilot Diameter; 1.610 Inch Pilot Length; 31 Spline; 1800-2200 Stall

Or this one~ Pro-King Torque Converter FM128 | O'Reilly Auto Parts
Torque ConverterTransmission Code: C6; Non-Lock-Up; 12.750 Inch Overall Diameter; 11.440 Inch Bolt Pattern; 4 Stud; 3/8-24 Thread; Milled Flat Hub; 1.375 Inch Pilot Diameter; 1.550 Inch Pilot Length; 31 Spline; 1750-2000 Stall

If you have the divorced transfer case then the C-6 is a 4wd only C-6 and is the shorter of the two in order to accommodate the divorced transfer case. If you don't no look under your truck and if there us a short piece if drive shaft running from the back of the C-6 transmission to the front of the transfer case. This indicates you have a divorced transfer case and therefore have the short C-6 tranny.

This has no impact on the TC.

Neither of those are for a FE. The FE uses a 1.848 pilot.

OK... after some research on another site I found an answer... I think. The rear of the crank has TWO indentions ground into it. The 1.878 Pilot is a shorter snout. The 1.375 Pilot is a longer snout... apparently EITHER will work.

I just went and looked at the back of my crank, and this seems to be the case, Nice of Ford to do that.

Heres a picture for reference...

Crank... larger 1.878 and step down to 1.375

So if anybody can verify this it sure would be appreciated... I don't need a race application, those things are STUPID prices. Just a plain jane torque converter. Surely someone has a link or info that can help? Has anybody here actually changed one out?
