hey guys, quick question, im planning on dropping the rear of my 93 f150 2 inches just to even it up and prolly go with some 275 r60 15s. i wont tow or carry weight in this truck very often, prolly the most load it will see will be my honda 300 fourtrax .my question is do yall think that will be enough weight to maybe put some air shocks on it (to lift it back up) or do yall think just regular shocks will be sufficient?
and what kind of shocks do you recommend? does it really make that much difference? ive never really used anything but cheap shocks
I would just use some decent shocks. Skip all typical parts store shocks and get Bilstein which is about the best there is or at least KYB. If you are using this as more of a street truck KYB Gas Adjust would be alright and they would make it feel a little firmer and more sporty. They are probably the best budget shock. Forget the air shocks, since shock mounts are not designed to carry load. I doubt that ATV will weigh it down that much. If it does the only thing I can suggest is overload air bags.

thanks a bunch!
Exactly what Texas guy said . I actually recently bought 2 inch lift blocks myself to raise the rear up on my 96. And usually good to do shocks also. Like Texas guy said shock mounts aren’t designed to take weight or should we say compensate for weak springs. Go with at least Kyb like the other guy said. I have the kyb gas adjust monotubes on the front of my truck and like then. They are a nice all around shock . Gives you a little of everything. And if you still want more load capacity I suggest a helper spring added to leaf springs or the air bag set up. Stay away from air shocks. Andc when you get shocks be sure to specify 2wd vs. 4wd. But go with at least the kyb gas adjust monotubes. The ones for my truck are like 33 each on Rick auto.
