You should stay within the legal limits for tint. If you run somebody over their lawyer will have a hay day with you and your illegal tint. Especially on the windshield.
Just wear sunglasses..
Agree.
Everyone is a gorilla when it comes to the law...until an injury attorney gets involved..
If it’s heat related, there are better choices that just darkening.
Made an appt to get windows tinted thinking about doing the whole front too anyone ever done this and if so what do you think and what percent did you use? How is it at night?
Mostly the police are tinted out here in Ma. Anyone else is taking a chance.
I just had my 2021 side windows tinted as dark as state law allows. The tint shop tried to sell me the clear product, for the other windows, but it sounded fishey to me.
Seeing some real world comments has me reconsidering the clear treatment!
I ran very illegal tint for 20 years on my 2001 without any trouble,. I only went lighter this time because my night vision ain't what it used to be.

Tinting the entire windshield is illegal is every State but some do allow brows.
Are you trying for heat rejection or you just want the windshield darker.
If it’s heat rejection, you can do the entire windshield but it’s just a clear tint that’s designed for heat rejection and it’s barely noticeable.
If you live in an area where the cops really don’t enforce the tint laws, in my opinion, the darkest that one should go on the entire windshield is 50% and you should not have any problems with driving at night or in the rain.
Careful though, there is a series of 2021 trucks that have a recall requiring removal of the windshield, so if you fall into that group and plan on getting the recall done, you may want to hold off.
If I read the recall correctly they simply remove the windshield long enough to apply the glue strip then put your existing windshield back on.
I have never tinted an entire windshield and do not plan to, but WI law does allow for tint to be applied above the "AS1 Line". On my last truck, I had 5% film on the top, but that was too dark for me, as it was hard to see traffic signals without ducking below the film. I just had 20% installed on my F350 and I think that is just right. Can see through it just fine, and is still dark enough to block the sun around the visors. The legal limit on side front windows in WI is 50%, and I had that on my last truck but it was way too light, in my opinion. I had 20% installed on my F350 and like it so far. No problems seeing through it at night, and dark enough to block the sun during the day.
I never really tinted my trucks. My current truck I went for side front windows to match the back and 35% on the entire windshield. I absolutely LOVE it. Don’t think I’d ever not get the windshield tinted. It’s definitely illegal and I’m taking a chance but it helps so much.

If you have the LED package headlights, it's not bad at all even on the country roads with zero lightposts. I wouldn't go any darker than 35% though, thats my sweetspot. Ive had it on for almost a year and a half now, and havent ran into a situation where i really hated it. I also like the privacy aspect of it.
