Ford Homecoming

Hello Everybody,

I've been away for a while but am now coming back. I had the truck in my signature and over new years 2019/2020, I (stupidly) traded it on a Nissan Titan. My SD had about 45k miles on it and was not aging well. Front end issue, driveline vibration issue, a/c issue, door lock issue, brake issue all started around 40k miles and I was fine with fixing everything but I couldn't stop thinking that if this is what I was dealing with at 45k, what about 90k, 120k, etc. The titan is a nice truck, does everything I ask it to and hasn't missed a beat...but...its not a SD and I miss my SD.

I decided to give Ram and GM a chance before I went back to Ford and I drove both and spent a few hours poking around both and I guess I'm just a Ford guy. So now I'm looking at getting back into a SD. I have a local dealer pricing out a F-350 Lariat 7.3 with the Tremor package.

Question is...how much % off MSRP are you guys seeing on new trucks? Also, what kind of interest rates are the 750+ credit scores seeing? I figure I have 4-5k equity in the Titan, most of which will go to sales tax and fees. I'm not in a huge rush and don't mind waiting until the right truck/deal comes around. Just looking to do my homework before sitting down and doing the dance with the dealers.

Thanks!

If you have, or had any affiliation with U.S. DoD. Look at Navy Federal Credit Union for auto loans. I have not found better rates anywhere, unless there is a mfg sponsored 0%/.9% type special. Which I don't expect Ford will do any time soon for SDs.

Inventory is constrained. So if you are trying to buy now off the lot good luck. You don't have much bargaining power. X Plan/Costco/other car buying service might save you something. Though dealers can choose to accept Ford Corp discount plans, they don't have to take them (afaik).

if you can get x plan, I would look at that. Plus 750 mil and same for first responder and any rebates can help a lot.

I wont qualify for any DoD options. There is plenty of inventory near me- Brandon Ford in Tampa has a couple dozen Lariat’s on the lot but I’m not sure how much I can get off the sticker prices.

my experience is inner-metro areas don't budge on sticker price vs outer borough areas are more flexible. in the north east.....difference is over 10% on sticker and big time difference on trade value..... variance on trade across dealerships could be as much as 40%.

when I bought my vehicle , ford offered 7% over 60 months vs my credit union 8% over 84 months. my credit score was almost 800 and I had no debt on 220k per year income. I opted for the 84 month load which combined with the trade, made my payments for f-450 Lariat ultimate with 8/125 extended warranty 861 per month. I think I added 8K cash into the pot to lower my payments.
