Stupid is as stupid does.

Long story short, I didn't do my homework well and listened to a very convincing story when buying my 2018 in June of 2018 and ended up with a third party extended warranty. I was recently told by another Ford finance person I could call and cancel it and get back most of my money because I still have 3 months before it takes effect (< 25,000 miles) which I will use to get a Ford ext warranty.

2 questions:
Is this true, can I cancel my extended warranty since it hasn't taken effect yet?

If it is true, my research has shown the name Flood Ford as the place to buy a Ford warranty or is there someone better?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Rich

You should probably read the terms of the warranty you purchased, that will give all the cancelation information. Lombard Ford , Flood Ford and Zeigler Ford are the top three you should price compare. Unless you are in Florida then you are SOL.

I can’t speak about a full refund before your warranty actually takes effect. But I have traded in Ford trucks and been refunded the prorated balance of an extended warranty without too much trouble. Hopefully you come out the other side of this with all of your money.

Better hope that the warranty company hasn't gone belly up already. I had a third party extended warranty on a Dodge mini-van that was useless because the warranty company went bankrupt long before I could use any part of the warranty.

Warrantying Dodges is a fools errand.

I shouldn't say that. My daily driver is a Dodge.

I am coming from 4 diesel Ram's and didn't have any 'major' issues. Out of the 4 only part that failed was one turbo solenoid covered under warranty. None of them left me stranded on the side of the road. This is my first PS so if things go sideways I'll come back to this post and let ya know.

Jumped ship because the Ram I had on order was delayed multiple times. Test drove a F-450 and was like WOW....i'll give this a shot. WIfe thinks I'm crazy. Kids call me a traitor and refuse to be seen in the truck. Whatever......

As for OP and warranty I would never take a 3rd party warranty, and would try to get a refund. Contracts aren't valid until 3 business days so if you just signed on you should be able to back out. Good luck.

I've owned two Dodges in my lifetime now. My current DD, a Grand Caravan, is the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned and it was free. My Dodge Stealth was NOT reliable and I was an idiot kid who financed it.

I wish my 18 year old self didn't waste money on stupid cars. Buying a 90's Mitsubishi with a Dodge emblem was super dumb.

Yes, you should get as much of your $$$ back as you can. When you're ready for an Extended Ford Warranty check out Flood Ford ESP - their pricing options are right there online and it's very tough to beat their prices
