400 to 3spd.
Hows it goin.
I was wondering about a 400 engine I got from a friend, it's out of a 77 F-150. I'm looking to put it in an 89 mustang drag car, I'm building up. I'm looking to link this engine to a 3-spd. standard out of an early ford truck or whatever. I believe I can squeeze around 460 pounds of torqe/400 HP.
What 3-spd can take this power and hold up, also looking for a good 1st gear, if possible.
