Sinister Six

Hi guys, im new to the forum but not to ford trucks. Been driving ford trucks for almost 20 years now and im only 34. I wanted to share with you guys a project i picked up right before the new year. I saw an ad for one truck a red 94 single cab long bed truck that the guy was only asking $450 for. When i got there the frame damage was more obvious than in the pictures and ended up being a bigger project than i cared for. Buuuut this truck was sitting not too far from her and for the same price. She doesnt start, cant drive cause she doesnt have a drive shaft, brakes are missing lines, frame has a good bit of surface rust i plan on addressing since i am going to be pulling it off the frame, just not all at one time. The straight six seems to be in decent condition and i have no idea what the trans is like (i may just get it rebuilt while im at it for peace of mind). Its got highway gears and plan on cracking that open and hopefully dont find any surprises in there. Pictured is the progress i have made in the last few weekends as the first few months of having this truck were busy with buying and selling a home and that freeze we had last month didnt help. The engine is an oily mess, oil pan rusty, did a compression check which barely passed. I got a feeling it could have done better but i bet the valves are pretty dirty. This weekend im gonna look at getting a few more jack stands and probably an engine stand so i can take the 300 a part and get the frame sitting up higher where i can work on the brakes easier. I plan on keeping the 300 in her and will beef her up. I want to keep it NA but might just have to do a turbo build if im not happy with the power output. But who knows, maybe someday it will get a 351 🤷🏽‍♂️.

Good luck with your project. Perhaps you should have bought both so you have a parts truck?

I thought about it but i just dont have the room. Besides i want to make this truck as close new as possible body wise and better than new in performance. A turbo build is a very real possibility for the future as i have sourced parts to be able to do so. It would end up being a ford “12 valve cummins”. Lol
