Hey all,
2000 V10 4X4 242K running 295/16 Cooper AT3 tires, stock springs with helper leaf
dealing with a tire issue lately, after a 650 round trip to beach noticed the tires have gotten really loud, I've always known the fronts cup on the outside but rotation at oil changes kept that in check and never progressed like this.
Now front and rears are cupping on outside and inside, the rears have never been a problem the 21 years of ownership.
This brings me to my question has anyone had similar issue creep up on them? The rears cupping is baffling to me?
I know the usual suspects are alignment, hub bearing, and balancing could be causes?
Anything else I should inspect? I guess shocks? Anything else?
TIA

I've had problems with Bridestone Revo 2's and my current set of Hankook Dyna Pro AT2's cupping like that even though I rotate them. In between those I had Michelins with no issues. Not sure if its the air pressure or blocky type tread or not, but it makes it sound like a bearing going out until you elevate it on jack stands and it is quiet.
I’ve had that cupping with worn unit bearings and worn ball joints. Neither were worn out, but getting there. Just keep rotating and ignore it IMO (I’m also a 21 yr owner).

yes def going to check hubs again and I guess run it to shop for an alignment check and rebalance and see what that does, have to make another couple of 650 round trippers before it goes for paint in May, trying to hopefully figure it out before the tires are total crap.
I did think of the shocks because they have been on the truck for about 10 years if I remember right, as for the ball joints I will check those when I checking the hubs.
