Are they worth a ****? I've got D3VE heads on my 460 just went through them and rebuilt them, wondering if I could do better cheap or if they are a decent raceable head?
Been lots of discussion about D3VE versus D0VE in the 460 forum. Also tons of info on these heads themselves. Try a search there, if you don't find anything let me know, I can hunt it down for you
Came up with 6 hits right off the bat from the last month dealing with D3VE heads.

I've got my 460 bored.30,dished Silv-O-Lites,.585 comp cam, weind stealth, holley 750 Dbl pumper, msd 6-A, stock crank, Lunati roller rockers, MSD coil&distributor, Accel 8.8 330+'s, And havn't started the son of a bitch YET! I was wondering how much of a difference there would be if I went and found a good pair of old dove heads and had them gone through and maybe ported and polished if it would be worth the money or just porting and polishing the D3VE heads.
Yea, a speedshop here in Spokane that specializes in Fords, said to go with the the D3 heads and flat tops-
BTW, what is the stock size of the valves in a D3 head?
It was the weak design point on standard production 385s, to fit between shock towers on intermediate sized vehicles. Any assistance to the exhaust side, grinding off the smog bump, porting, headers, +10 degrees on cam duration, reaps big rewards.
