speedometer is acting up

speedometer is acting up
speedometer wont work if i go slower then 20 mph now. for awhile it didnt work at all while i was searching for the problem. i was reading that the speedometer reads off of the abs sensor or something for my truck. if it does then that might explain the abs light. is there a common thing that fails at roughly 139k miles or do i just have a bad part somewhere?.

im not to good with the sensors but the odometer doesnt work if that helps narrow it down. truck is a 94 5speed if that also helps

94 has a vehicle speed sensor in the rear axle. it also has what is called a PSOM on the back of the cluster that controls the speedometer..
but with you saying the ABS light is also on, i would be suspecting the VSS, because the RABS reads off that too.
