2017 F150. Dash lights go our, all gauges go to zero. And lose power steering. Then like flipping a switch they start working again lkke nothing happens. The engine keeps running when it does this
When batteries start to go bad, weird electrical things happen. On Fords, I have noticed over the years that the gauge cluster will do strange things. My OEM battery lasted 2 years. Many here have also had batteries that have died an early death.

I have n9 way to test the battery. I have a load tester, but how do you correctly test this particular battery? It cranks fine..
and in my case when the gauge cluster went dead, the powwr steering went away. And the cruise control kicked off as well..
I just got rid of a 2017 Silverado that was doing the exact same thing. Battery and alternator tested fine. Dealer never could find the problem. Some mornings it wouldn't even start until I slammed the drivers door. I talked to a guy that had a 2005 Dodge Ram that did the same thing. He finally found that it was a bad ground wire somewhere that was making his act up. I also noticed with the Silverado that if I opened the drivers door and didn't hear the fuel pump priming is when it would not start....until I slammed the drivers door. Was only too happy to get rid of it!!! Hope you find the problem.
Well its in the shop now. They think it has a wiring problem. And has 4 codes. U3003-17. And the other 3 codes are similar. Voltage is too high. But I dont know what it means because I dont have enough information
Again....sounds just like that Silverado I had. They never found the problem.
All depends. And it starts and runs every time. Just the cluster and power steering. And it has codes. And "they" doesnt mean anything. You could have had a so called mechanic who didnt know what he was doing
