So as I was walking into ACE yesterday I noticed on my 1week new to me ‘19 F350 something dangling from the bottom of my truck. Went home and crawled underneath it and found some tape that has come unwound and then started looking around. I noticed the broke plastic but have no idea what part this is to replace or if there is something more sturdy in the aftermarket world? Any thoughts?
There was a tsb on the 2017 and up for that water in fuel sensor. Water was believed to be getting into that wiring and causing the water in fuel light to trip. Thats why the tape is there.
The TSB was on 2017 and 2018 MY trucks, the OP has a 19. It could have been a warranty repair, or simply just loosened over time. Like Joe T mentioned, there are other places under these trucks where you can find the same type of tape work.
I would just add some tape, the broken shielding would bother me more. That heat shield looks to be stupid expensive, laughable for what it is. I'm finding an MSRP of $299.74. The part is located in the lower left of this diagram.
And here is my 2019, without any TSB or warranty work done to the WIF sensor or connector. Never even had dealership hands on the fuel filters. Must be a factory tape job.🤷🏻♂️

Uuuuggghh. That is exactly the info I was looking for, scared to receive... tell me someone knows someone that can put together something more substantial at a fair price.
