Hi all so I have a 2006 expedition 5.4 xlt was giving it a tune up and all the sudden it will not start so I took it to local dealer they programed 2 new keys but it still has code b1601 b1342 no crank no start .I was wondering if anyone can point me in the next direction. I have an entry level scan tool. And some knowledge of how system works I'm just not an electrial guroo any advice is greatly appreciated
Did you do an engine wash or something? These codes point to "Immobiliser incorrect key" and "ECU fault". Have you checked fuses and such? Any connectors that you touched? If you did an engine wash, try to unplug and clean the connectors for the PCM with electronic contact cleaner. You can find the PCM on the firewall near the battery, it has 3 connectors.
I didn't wash it at all . I did check fuse 39 good n hot .had keys programed dealer said they were working with pcm or was a good program.... Anyways I'm thinking it has something to do with possible bad pcm . I would like to do a pin out on pcm can anyone help with a link to get me through that? The car sits 6mo a year not drivin very much but I do let it run a hour or so every couple weeks .?
