EFI or TKX swap

Hey guys had the truck out for a 150 mile drive around town and garnered a measly 6.5 mpg. I currently have a 351w and c6 with 3.70 gears so wanting OD has been a priority already but with the mileage being what it is I'm undecided which swap to first.

Truck is a 78 F100 2wd short bed. 351W with 185 AFR heads XE266hr cam and 3.70 rear gears with a duragrip. I am running a holley 750 carb on it with MSD ignition

That cam is not going to help your fuel mileage in the slightest and a 750 is too much carb.

What do your plugs look like. what's your timing curve look like . you should get better than that but don't expect wonders.

I like the 300 I-6 with the ZF5 in something like yours. The 87 and on F250's can be found with that combo. If you want a pre fuel injected 300 I6 then pre 87 works. They can be built with plenty of zip and still great gas mileage.

Plugs are a touch on the lean side. I am running 33 degrees at WOT the curve is based on the purple springs and I THINK the timing comes in at 2200 but i would need to double check my graphs. I got the 750 for free so for the cost of a rebuild kit and a secondary upgrade it was a good investment.
