10k mod

I want to do the 10k mod on my 95 psd. But I was wondering if there were any problems or side effects that could result. Also would someone who has done this 10k mod please give me instructions.
Thanks

I did it and I havent messed anything up, soem other guys do it with a chip and other mods. it will wake up the motor a lot. on the drivers side cylinder head next the the fuel filter there is a sensor with 3 wires, unplug the sensor and look straight at the connector, there will be two holes on the top and one on the bottom, splice into the wire that comes out of the top right connector and the middle one while looking straight on at it and connect them together with a 10k resistor and plug the connector back in. I ran wires to a switch under my dash so i can turn it on and off due to it making the idle rough.

Forgive me, I'm a newbie to PSD's but what does this mod do for you? And does the engine need to have a certain number of miles on it before doing mods?

Thanks
John

Basically what it does is tell the computer that there is less injection pressure than there really is so the computer increases perssure which gives it more fuel.

Well, I just finished my 10 k mod. All I can say is wow. If you havent done this mod already, go out andf do it now. Ten minutes and 99 cents later you will have an awesome result. My only question is why dont they come like this from the factory?

Please don't think I'm being stupid but how did you splice into the wires? Got a pic you could post?

Thanks

There is a plug to the right of your fuel filter, on top of the block. Unplug it. There are three wires, one is brown you will leave this one lone. Very carefully with a pair of of wire strippers peel back about a half inch of the insulation on the other two wires. Then splice a 10k ohm resistor onto the exposed wires, and tape them up with electrical tape. Plug back in and let start er up.

I have at least 30k with the 10k and no problems. It really helps the low end and turbo lag. I have no bad idle symptoms. Use a 1/4 or 1/2 watt resistor. You can even play around with different Ohm values. The lower the Ohms the more the effect.

How has this mod affected fuel milage. Did you lose/gain fuel milage with this mod. I would think more injector pressure would result in a little less fuel milage, but feel free to correct me.
