Engine sticker location doesn't match VIN location
Hello, the sticker on my valve cover says "Ford Windsor Ontario Canada", when I looked up my vin number, the 11th character denoted that it came from the Ohio plant. Does this mean that the motor is not original?
Windsor is an engine plant.. they only make engines there, Ohio is a vehicle assembly plant.
Thanks for clarification. I'm so skeptical about this van man, dash says 123 k but the engine screams 300k. The connectors are all missing from dash and the key hole plastic cover was what looks like glued on very poorly and sloppy. The dash looks very new where as everything else looks older. The damn thing also gets about 8 MPG after a tune up
Maybe the truck was a victim of a breakin at some point, the dash got smashed up so it was replaced and that is why it looks nicer than the rest of it. You could be right that the truck has more miles on it than indicated, but on the other hand these trucks get abused pretty bad in many cases, in my last van the headliner was all torn up by something sharp, I long wondered what could have caused it but it may have just been some delinquent with a pocket knife acting up.
Buyer remorse? If so, cut your losses and sell it otherwise enjoy what you have. Just saying.
No remorse. The guy who sold it to me advertised it base on mileage. He was a bit sketched out when I asked if the motor has been swapped.
I don't know about you but I'd treat a truck differently depending on many miles it has on the motor and chassis. I paid 1800 for a 350 with a **** ton of rust but a motor with 123 k. Im just skeptical and wanted more information on going around confirming or denying my skepticism.
