Been using Gates belts but they keep stretching on me to the point that I have to replace it to another new belt, the belt only runs water pump and alternator is there a stronger belt that I could try or what could be my problem. Thank you for any suggestions on this.
Have you checked whether the pulleys are matched, I had similar issue with my 66 and the 390 only to find I did not have matched pulleys, fortunately knowledgeable ebay seller provided alternatives to matching them and ended up swapping out the harmonic balance which solved the problem.
Had similar issue with my 65 with the 302, I used spacers in an attempt to align the pulleys but I was slightly off and as a result, over time, alternator bracket developed a crack, purchased a used fan belt pulley that solved the problem.
Experienced the same problem with my 66 F100, the quality of belts seems to have gone downhill. My pickup is completely original and in good shape.
yes sir, mine as well is all original, I did have a setup one time back in the 90,s where I had an I6 and it had twin belts on it same belt twice on double pulleys

Both of my trucks with 352 engines have dual pulleys and belts. Back in the day they sold the belts as a matched set that were not supposed to be separated.
Obviously whoever touched these sets didn't read the fine print. You can see the middle belt cardboard sleeve has the fine print on it as well as the right one under the white label. Pretty sure the left one says it on the other side.
I also have an older great big Ingersoll Rand air compressor and the belts were fine for years - made in the USA - the last belt I got I noticed said it was made in India. I figured that would be trouble. It was. Belt stretched and stretched and S-T-R-E-T-C-H-E-D more. I kept adjusting it and it would be fine for a month or so and then start squealing again. I finally gave it one last adjustment and I gave it a bit more tension that I typically do and it seems to be fine now for a few months. But, I have tons of adjustment available with this setup. I know with our trucks it is only going to adjust so far before you run out of adjustment. But, even though it is Gates I wonder if they are still made in the USA or how long it has been since they were.
Gates is an international company with plants all over the globe, betting it would be hard to determine exactly where the belts for our pickups are made these days. Mine had the twin belt setup but shortly before I bought the the pickup from my wife's grandfather he had the alternator replaced and they installed a single pulley one. I have a new alternator with the dual belt pulley and figure on putting it on when the old one dies.
Tend to go with Gates or Goodyear on both 65's for past 45 plus years and fortunately I have not had an issue with the bell stretching. Did go with a NAPA bell on 1 occasion and it lasted several years.
