I just got a motor out of an a 77 or 78 LTD with A/C since my truck does not have a/c can i use this pump to make an on board air setup. i looks nothing like the usual yorks that i see. it is a long cylinder. any ideas?

Those are some sort of rotary compressor and I have heard people have tried without success. You can always try and be the first one to do it tho -hehe. Even if it works for a moment it might not work for a few hours...
Do a Google search... the boxy York is the one to use and there are extensive articles about this application. I do have A/C in my 78 and have yet to fiqure out how to get another compressor under the hood. Any one done that?
That is a Frigidaire unit. They were mostly used on GM's I think. The big Lincolns used them too. My Father in-laws 72 Mercedes 350SL even has one.

yea, i have snuck a peek at onboardair.com. i was just hoping that the compressor that i had would work. i guess i am going to have to hunt down a york to make it work. oh well. that is the way it goes.
