Hi all, haven't been on the forum for a while. The old girl doesnt have any issues so no point in posting nothing LOL
Anyways after almost a YEAR of waiting for backorder Ford finally released a batch of polished/clear coated 8 hole wheels for the 2000 through 2004 super duty/excursion. My parts manager from my local dealer notified me when he got the update and I RAN there to pay him! Dropped my truck off and got four oem wheels, new falken tires and an alignment for $1,800.00 cash.
only three miles but I couldnt be happier 🙃 I had no business selling the originals when I installed the lift kit but here we are. I bitched on here for two years about hating aftermarket wheels and wasting time looking at abused sets on marketplace where guys put crap pictures up.
So here she is, dirty from hunting season but back to her old glory. Tomorrow she'll get a full detail and wax for spring. Over the next few weeks im installing new OEM 2005 headlights/getting interior pieces hydro dipped/ roof is getting line-x extreme in color match/and i need to re skin the drivers bedside from the wheel well rust that just popped through a few weeks back🤬
Some of you will think Im nuts spending money like that on a "old" truck but she's my old truck. Bought her myself out of high school, I've had two kids grow up in this truck and our third is growing up in it now. We've spent many a nights laying in the bed under the stars talking about our life, the kids, our plans for the future. Shes hauled the material to rebuild our home, my old girl is family and shes never leaving me. I'm gonna be that grandpa driving his old ford hes owned for forty years one day and I cant wait!
So jealous!!! Those are my favorite wheels. I had a set and sold them to my dad when I bought my 09. Year later the 09 was gone and I am sitting with a set of chewed up crap. They looks awesome. Who did you buy them through?

My local Ford dealer. I've been waiting an entire year maybe longer I forget it's been so long! Service manager kept telling me the backorder on them might never stop due to the age of the truck and Ford phasing out parts. When he called two weeks ago that Ford released twelve wheels back into the system I told him order four IMMEDIATELY

How much per wheel if you don’t mind me asking? I am guessing about $250 a wheel.
Didn't you have the same rims on the same truck? Am I missing something here?
Otherwise thumbs up on new shiney things.
Yes my truck shipped with these deluxe wheels as an option. Years back I was chasing a highway shimmy, after a few years and new tires/rotors/ pads/ball joints ONE SHOP figured out two of my aluminum wheels were out of round. One was worse than the other! So I sold two and scrapped the other two....at that time I went to a 4" lift with 35's. Jump forward to last year or 1.5 and I had enough of the crap fuel mileage/ having to literally climb into the bed for things so I tried ordering factory wheels but couldnt.
so they came off back order and here we are now...
