Its been awhile since I posted here, since my laptop fell and broke, I can't get on as easily but I should have it back in a couple days. In the meantime i went and got these...
20X10motometal951 with 37X13.5 toyo m/t's much nicer than before.
Jeremy the fender flares are bushwacker pocket style flares. they were on the truck when i bought it. Do your tires rub on the leaves when you go full turn?
Im going to be shorting the bracket for the dahl, since I wanted to get it done, i didnt have enough time to shorten it.
Something that I found out about those rims(i didnt know before I bought them), is that the hubcaps, they actually pull off from the front, instead of through the back like my old rims did. I really like that, since I can keep the milemarkers covered until I need them. Also my brakes look so small now.
My tires don't rub, they aren't as big as yours. Mine are 33's on 18's, but the same model/style of wheel.
I do need to get some flares though as my tires stick out a little past the body and it can make a real mess on the side of the truck. I like the Xenon flares for their smooth lines, but I've not seen pocket flares on a SD either and I like they way they look too.
Yeah i like them! I had the same wheels and tires but the AT version, i like. They did rub, but that was narrow backspacing. The new 954's i have is a wider backspacing and it doesnt rub at all. I had the filter sticking down low too but i moved it with a piece of 2x2" angle iron, mounted to the front bed support, right under the fuel tank door and it's very protected there.
With my old tires, they stuck out a little past the flares, and it would throw mud up on the side windows so bad. Now with these tires, they stick in just a little bit, and the side of my truck has stayed clean so far. I just can't belive the ride out of this setup. ALL the vibrations, shimmys, clunking(i can't figure this one out? lol) are gone. The truck rides the best it has ever since I bought it.
Kris, I had the idea for those rims from your old pictures. I saw those rims, and knew thats what i wanted. I had my dahl right where you had it before I installed the aeromotive pump and big pickup, and i moved it so it would be easier to change the filter, in case my fuel gels or anything like that.
Okay, Im going to say this for the last time. No more buying anything for my truck until at least next year. Im outta money now lol. I think I can go 2 months without buying anything for my truck.....maybe....damn PMS got me bad now.
I run those same tires john, after this accident business is over im probably going to have to get new rims and tires but anyway. You can save the insides of the tires from the leaf springs buy drilling and tapping a 1/4 20 bolt into the steering stop and it will keep you from rubbin. Those tires are awesome youll be real happy with them compared to those swampers on 16.5s you had.
