Finally was able to get a 79 super cab bought. Has a 460, blown auto trans. It’s all jacked up but will put it back to stock. Been sitting since 05. It’s a short bed with lariat package. Really pretty rust free. A long ways to go on it. Gave $1500
yes. He told me 1000 but I gave him 1500. He runs a local restaurant I eat at a lot. He’s a really good guy. Didn’t even know he had it. It sat a block from the restaurant for last 15 years. Just happened to spot it a week ago.

That's pretty amazing.... it's that rare combo of super cab, short box and 4wd that just makes it.
So, what's the plan for it? New trans, lower and drive.... or restoration? It's a perfect candidate for either really...
I’m about to wrap up my 76 highboy restoration in next couple weeks. I think the SuperCab needs a full resto job Back to original. All the original spring hanger are gone so get those bought and drop it back down. It looks hideous jacked up like that
heres my 76. Hope to get bed blasted next week and paint in next couple

Incredible find and as mentioned before Supercab/4X4/shortbox what a combo. You my friend may have pulled off the best deal of 2021.
Looks like maybe they converted a 2wd to 4wd the way they did the front. On a true 4wd scab 150-350, it shares all suspension with a regular cab 250 front and rear

you are right. It was converted. Just decoded the vin. That’s a freekin bummer
Still a good truck. Maybe clean it up the way it is and trade or sell for something you really want. It’s already got a good lift, someone wanting a bigger truck would already have a good start
That could be a, relatively, cheap cruiser/monster truck. Throw a cheap used tranny in it, find some used 40"-44" tires and do a spray bomb detailing. Run it till you get bored then flip it for twice what ya put into it.
