I know DEF isn't a complex product and there are a bunch of different brands, but I haven't found any talk about Napa labeled DEF. Is it decent for what it is, or more importantly, should it be avoided for any reason?
I can't see paying the premium for Motorcraft DEF from the dealer. We don't have DEF at the pump around here, so looking to grab a box soon and noticed Napa is having a special this month in theirs.
Grab the cheapest DEF you can find that still is within date. Brand I irrelevant here, lots use the Supertech from Walmart as it's 7.50 for a 2.5 gallon container.
Def is DEF is dEF.
NAPA branded DEF is Old World which is repackaged Blue DEF.
You can search for any DEF HERE and see who makes it, and if it is certified.
I agree, cheapest DEF you can find is good.
I'm currently running Sinopec, found at WM.com. 5 gallons was 13.00 delivered.
I ran Tractor Supply Traveller before. That's the cheapest over the counter I found.
I couldn't find any date on the Napa stuff and was told by sales person its not on it. They just assured me that they go through it so fast that its fresh.
Made Wednesday February 17th 2021. The date code is there.
GA = Plant Code
22 is the year + 1, so this would mean 2021
317 is days remaining of the year, so this would mean the product was made on the 48th day. The rest of the digits are the batch sequence numbers.

Thanks again👍🏻, I thought there might be a way to decipher it from that.
