With the back n forth trips of 1200 miles, im developing a permanent bowed right leg because I aints got C.C...looked at fuse box yesterday along with the manual and, there's no fuse...what do I do now?
lol..id grt a better look at a T-bone steak if...but, I'll take the butcher's word for it
Hunter..its what ive been dign up. Something about a recall back in the day, that the dealers' I'll put an inline fuse..etc. Then, there were the fire hazard, or domething along them lines. Has something to do with the brake switch or sensor at the master cylinder...heck if I no
I'll take a gander Sous bc, I'm about to bounce out here in next few days
I believe that fuse was specifically for the pressure switch on the master cylinder, I don't think having it or not will disable the cruise.
The cruise is handled by the ECU, column wiring/switch issues/clockspring would be my first guess, but I imagine those threads Sous posted would be a better start.

You do have a functioning speedometer, right?
yessir...bought truck in Dec/17..it worked then bc it came from Yuma. Illuminated green so, at 1 point I had it. Fast forward to now and never had a reason to, since truck was only used within 50 mile radius..minus a few mammoth trips towing but, never used c.c. Didnt want it downshifting while towing...
I found this. Will check it out...but, also gunna dig thru Sous links
Mine did the same thing a few months ago. It was the pressure switch under the master cylinder - the one I picked up from the local leprechaun auto parts store looked a little different (sensor + 6" of wire with fuse then the plug vs. just the pressure switch with plug) but it fixed mine right up, easy fix.
Verify 3rd brake light bulb is functional (and NOT an LED) and report back.
Almost anything else will produce a stored code.
ur honking my thinker, right! Yeah, it's a led style setup...goodgrief!
arp..not sure how I overlooked that sensor but, I'll go take a gander...
update
...as for fuses..theyre good
This is the fused jumper they installed at the recall on my 2002. If the brake pressure switch was leaking you got a new one, if it was not leaking you got the fused jumper in case it starts to leak in the future it won't burn the truck down.

The LED will likely require a resistor. Or replace with conventional bulb.
Bad 3rd brake light bulb (or LED) can cause no cruise control and no TC lockup.
I forget what tests will wring out codes for cruise control. Switch test? ABS system test?? ????
The function tests for the speed (cruise control) are in the tech folder. One was built by an FTE'r and the other I believe is from the Ford Service Manual.
There are many, many things that can be the cause of not allowing the speed control to work properly. The most common are clock spring, clutch safety switch, fuse, master cylinder connector, brake on/off sensor and 3rd brake light. The 3rd brake light is a bit of an enigma because some people are able to run an LED and speed control without a resistor or problems, where others are not.
I have not accomplished a deep dive into the anomaly because it is too easy of a fix in most cases and I would spend more time analyzing the data than it takes to replace the bulb. Perhaps it has something to do with the GEM vs. the VSM equipped trucks, I don't know.
