Draining or removing old DEF

The last time I put DEF in the system was a few months ago. I wasn't aware that DEF had a life expectancy. Recenlty the heater went out just it was warming up from the arctic blast that came down here. The heater was changed out. Mechanic said the tank was still full, so he didn't add any to it. So, I don't know how old the DEF is now since it had been sitting in my shop for I don't know how long before I poured in the DEF tank back in the fall. Had I been aware of the life expectancy of it, I would have had them dump it out and refill it when the heater was replaced. So now here I am wondering how I can get the old DEF out before I have a problem with it.

Shelf life is 2 years at 74 degrees, I have plenty of the stuff in heavy backup equipment that is over 8 years old and still tests fine during the yearly. I wouldn't worry too much and just use it up.
