My brother's '99 has both the head gasket leak and the disappearing odometer.
Has anyone ever looked into the trends that follow these problems? I'm thinking that if we looked into it enough, we'd be able to figure out, down to the month, which Expeditions were doomed.

I'm very curious to see whether or not the problems are randomly distributed or if they cluster around certain dates. My brother will be home pretty soon here, and I'll check both our door stickers. His has a bunch of problems, but mine hasn't had anything out of the ordinary (the IAC went up, but other than regular maintainence, nothing odd).
I have had the disappearing odometer on my 99 but have not had any problem with the head gasket yet. Only other problem was the ABS sensor. The build date is 11/98

Hey BIGMATT,
I had another post abouit the IAC, but saw you write about it here. Did you replace it yourself or did you have a shop do it? Also, if you did, was it hard? How much was the parts, etc. thanks in advance for any info. you can give me.
