Front Shocks

Ok having one hell of a time finding front shocks for my 76 f-100 4x4 with front springs eye to eye type shock. Don't want to do a 2"or 4"lift kit just to put shocks on, kinda over kill in my opinion. Any help would be appreciated

Measure the shocks that are on it at full extension and full compression then order bilstein 5150s universal fit to match.

Or match otheres the same way..

Did someone change something on your truck? Different shock mount or an adapter? I thought all the 4x4s had eye bottom/stud top type shock.

My 74 4x4 F100 has eye to eye on the front shocks... think it changed later on though. 77? 78? Somewhere in there.

I am in the same boat trying to locate some stock (no lift) front shocks.

I'm restoring 1974 f-100 4x4, here is some of my research that I got from this site:

- 1966/76 F100 4WD & 1975/76 F150 4WD use the same front shocks. There are several different types of these.
- 1977/79 F150 4WD are different. There were no F100 4WD's after 1976.

Stock Height, no lift:
Front:
Extended Length: 19.69"
Compressed Length: 12.51"
Mounting: eye / eye

Rear:
Extended Length: 24.3"
Compressed Length: 14"
Mounting: eye / stud

I purchased Skyjacker shocks all around for my project:
Black MAX twin tube shock absorbers, with black boot.
Front: B8512
Rear: B8555

My truck is still in pieces, so I haven't been able to try them out yet.

Here's the fronts:

You can check out my original question about this, the same as yours here:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...1974-f100.html

Hope this helps.
