axle question??

well i just picked up a 78 f-150 4x4 it has a 9" rear axle and a dana 44 up front now iam looking at changing the gears ratio in it and i keep comeing up with the dana 44 showing as a "reverse rotation dana 44" what exactally is this? from what i understand is it will cost more money to do the gear swap. but just figured i would drop a line and find out exactally what a reverse rotation dana 44 is .......thanks

from what i understand, it is a high pinion axle the input is on the top side of the diff. by reverse rotation it just means that it contacts the side gear on the opposite side.
