So my cowl is pretty rusty on the passenger side. A combination of wet leaves/needles on the inside and mud on the outside caused my cowl to rust. I believe someone chopped it apart once it leaked into the cab and now this entire section is non-existent. Would I be crazy to try and fix this by hacking apart another cab? It’s a crewcab so a cab swap isn’t an easy option.
I am sure it can be done, that is an area where a lot of panels, parts and pieces come together. You talking #02300?
I had a buddy than needed the piece the door hinges mount on (from both sides). # 02500 Wow did we ever have to dissect the doner cab. We literally hacked those pieces out of there.
Getting the replacement out of the spare cab, should not be an issue. You can cut more of the actual panel, then trim to fit. It's just getting the replacement in there that could be a PITA. And then you need to check out this thread "the cowl screen install". Mark-guiver is on to something for sure. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...cowl-area.html
