Cab repair... denial

Ignorance is bliss... but deep down I knew it.
I had not seen any rust on my cab. I pulled it off the frame some time ago and it's been sitting in the corner.
Well today I pulled it out and flipped it up on it's back.. yeah you guessed it. I'm bummed. Now I know it's not as bad as some.. and you guys and gals have repaired a lot worse.
But I was in denial. I was hoping to sand blast and do some minor dent fixing on the roof and shoot some primer.

Just more work.

Not to rain on your parade but did you really think you were going to get by without doing some rust repair on the cab? I mean come on it's 55 years old what did you expect? Sorry not trying to be a smarty pants! Ha Ha

Is that picture of the right rear cab corner? That is not to bad and the patch panel for it is about $30.00. So keep your chin up and keep up the good work. Now if you want to see some rust? I have a lot of it.

Besides if you can make those trashed front fenders look that good then the cab wont be any trouble at all.

Denial...it's not just a river in Egypt.

You'll do fine on these weld repairs. You already did excellent work on the fenders and running boards.

Thanks guys... I posted this cause I knew I needed some encouragement. I KNEW I was swimming in the river.
If things go as planned (ha) I will sandblast this weekend to see the extent of my denial. I will also look at Fred (parts truck) to see if his r rear cab corner is toast or not.
Just when I thought I was making progress....

That outer panel is just the start of your misery...wait til you cut it out and get a look at the inner panel! I just finished replacing the inner and oute corner, rocker, and full cowl panel on my 54...not a lot of fun but boy is that cab solid now!
